are you making yourself wrong for this?

hey, sesame seed.
when i first started exploring coaching + made the move from teacher to coach, i immersed myself in all things coaching AND all things being in biz for yourself
i scooped up all the free PDFs + trainings, invested plenty of time + money in deeper work, and reckoned with a story i had about myself that said i wasn’t biz savvy
because a lot of the “best” strategies that everyone in the know said you HAD to do to do biz right just did not feel good for me
i KNEW that, intuitively. my body TOLD me that, repeatedly
the rebel in me would say: the hell with how you’re SUPPOSED to do business
the one who knew that about herself would say settle down a sec, girl. give it a try. maybe there’s something for you to learn here. maybe you DON’T know best
and yes… there was plenty for me to learn there
some of the strategies felt very aligned, and i learned them well —
those often met with success
but some of the strategies were not as aligned. i tried some as best i could —
some met with okay results that i couldn’t bring myself to maintain
others tanked straightaway
for a while i told myself i needed to go through all that to know which ones landed + which didn’t
but here’s something i stand by…
just because something misaligned works DOESN’T mean something more aligned won’t work BETTER
and all the time, energy + money i spent thinking i was wrong for going against the grain (or wanting to) could have been so much better spent HONORING that inclination + learning how to find strategies that did so, too
have you ever made yourself wrong for a difference of opinion, or a different point of view?
have you ever assumed that the expert knows best, even when your whole body is screaming a different story?
i help passion-powered, big-visioned leaders, coaches + creative dismantle the default conditioning that leaves them so hungry for answers that they starve their inner wisdom in favor of fast food blueprints —
so they can access the insight that will get them where they want to go better (+ more joyfully, too)
give a shout if you wanna talk about it
xxoo, cc

CLIP TRANSCRIPT:
well, if you think about the times just reading a book — you read a thing + something lands and you're like ooh, that feels great. i'm glad to know that. that resonates
then you read something + it's counter to what you believe… do you then make yourself wrong + say oh, i guess i need to learn this, or i guess i was wrong about that
or do you say oh, that's not FOR me?
i'm not saying that we're never wrong or anything like that, but i'm just saying so often the default is to read or hear something that someone else is presenting as truth, and if you don't see it or believe it, then you think that that's a failing in YOU rather than a difference of opinion
and so having that that muscle to own that we just have different opinions — again I can trust myself at least as much as everyone else

hey, sunbutter cup. so, they say when you turn 50 you start to give less of a fuck just shy of T- 2 months for me, and i’m over here kinda struck by how it’s already happening while on one hand, age + timelines can be admittedly kind of arbitrary… on the other, i’m totally feeling on the full-body brink of some big transition a quiet strength has seeded within, a gentle yet undeniable unshakeability grown at my core a system-wide evolved embodiment that feels at once leaner + more full and...
