are you telling yourself you're wrong without even realizing it?

every week in my membership community, the UPRISING inner sanctum, we explore an oracle or tarot card for the insight it might bring on our life + biz

(as passion-powered coaches + visionary small biz owners, you know there’s ultimately little real separation of the two)

the community card pulled today was CREATURE OF WATER, creative expression*, and it was pulled in reverse (upside down)

our practice is to treat the card like the art it is, and to allow it to inspire what it will within us

THAT’S the wisdom

we might check out the guidebook to see what OTHER wisdom the card creator intended, but we don’t start there, and if it doesn’t land, we let it go

here’s some of what came up for me when i engaged with the card, before bringing it to the group. i’d love to know how it lands for you!

where are you resisting the FULLNESS of your creative expression?

where are you dulling it down or dumbing it down — keeping it respectable, safe, correct?

every time you tone down the intensity of your message, passion or vision in order to follow someone else’s rules of what good business, marketing or strategy is —

you’re tacitly agreeing to the story that you are wrong

that you’re too much

or not enough

or in some way or another, not fucking epic

whether you realize it or not —

you’re telling yourself that in order to win, you need to be LESS you

more whatever someone else says

that you can’t win being YOU

that your YOUness is wrong

and you already know how i feel about THAT

so stop making yourself more palatable for tastes you were never meant to tickle

stop muting the volume on the message that your most aligned people don’t even know they’ve been hanging on for

stop silently undercutting your own bright light + undeniable magic

let your proverbial freak flag fly, bloom

and watch all your fellow freaks flock lol
