how’s your self-talk, bloom?

hey, turkey taco.

how would you rate your self-talk?

if you’re not familiar with the concept, i’m talking about all the ways you think about yourself in your head — whether it shows up in clearly identifiable words, pieces of phrases, or full-blown inner monologues or it’s more of an overall feeling or energy you have toward yourself

sometimes it comes through in a voice that sounds like yours, other the voice belongs to someone else in your life who, somewhere along the way, made you feel less than the amazing human you are

sometimes it’s a vague nod to societal norms, others it’s unnervingly specific

and if you’re like so many clients, colleagues + friends — it doesn’t always say the nicest things

lately my self-talk has come up in several conversations, because it’s pretty freaking stellar

like, the other day i re-read something i’d written several years ago + caught myself saying this to myself inside my head:

WOW. YOU ARE MAGICAL

friends often come to me for self-talk reframes, and i’ll go hard for the part of you that deserves way better inner chatter than what you may be serving it

when it comes to working with clients, i can often pull out burdensome, irksome self-talk that you don’t even realize you’re experiencing but is definitely getting in the way of you going all-in on going after + getting the juiciest, most alive + aligned goals + dreams

because you deserve the first, fifth + final thought in your head to be WOW. YOU ARE MAGICAL too

got any scripts running through your head that you’re ready to replace? i’d love to help. send em over + i’ll offer up some loving alternatives

xxoo, cc

hey, chicken strip. 🚨 stop joining communities to be polite pssst: you can sub “joining communities” with whatever else you’re doing because it would feel rude or uncomfortable not to you work, feel + love too damn hard to slowly smother yourself under the weight of being a “good” friend, colleague, partner or lover it may feel easier to just click “accept” on that group invite than to say it’s not a good fit for you right now same for the new client, volunteer position, date invite or collab...

hey, sesame seed. listen, there will always be some sorta valid bullshit reason to sideline your joy — especially in your business there will always be voices urging you to deprioritize your joy — insisting that it’s impractical, unreasonable + irresponsible to seek joy as a metric of success it’s one thing to SAY you want to claim joy like it’s your job, or to know that you’d like a more joyful experience in this one sweet life of yours that’s the easy part (even though i know you might...

hey, cheese tray. what do you do when there’s a shitton you COULD be doing + you aren’t feeling focused, but you ARE feeling motivated + ready to get down to biz? i regularly use a combination of: whiteboards (3) NUMEROUS google cal reminders (color coded by mood at the moment rather than in pursuit of organizational purposes) — for weekly AND daily goals/tasks sticky notes torn scraps of paper voice memos a journal for strategizing out at cafes or parks dedicated google docs hastily made...
