pause + peruse your people —

hey, mashed potato.

the other day i was talking with a multipassionate, multitalented client who was trying to sift through options for what to do next in her biz — looking for the sweet spot of what lit her up + what the market wanted

as we sorted through the possibilities (and inspired by our discussion around a card we pulled on the call), i asked her to shift focus from all the WHATs she had to work with to thoughtful consideration of the WHOs in her life who might unlock inspiring projects + possibilities

INTUITION-DRIVEN ACTION: take a current inventory of your people

🐞 who do you know? (think through each area + timeframe of your life — location, era, job experience, outside interests)

🐞 who do you love to work with? and who drags you the eff down?

🐞 who have you been wanting to get to know better or meaning to catch up with?

⚡ where have you discovered any gorgeous overlaps of people + projects? are there conversations just aching to be had?

pay attention to what comes up + see what happens when you let it lead the way!

and if you’re not sure what to DO with this information, consider booking in a coaching session or diving right into a transformation session before february special pricing disappears tomorrow!

let me know what comes up for you when you try this intuition-driven action step — you know i wanna hear it

CONTENT CONTEXT:

this conversation was from a monthly check-in call with a member of the UPRISING inner sanctum — my online neo-community for passion-powered coaches, course creators + small business visionaries doing business their way

these are short 1:1 calls that often center around an oracle or tarot card pull as a tool for revealing insight + offering direction, often with an element of explicit strategy or business brainstorming as well

as the situation calls, we may engage in strategic coaching, deeper inquiry-based exploration, practice scenario roleplay, tactical planning, grounding practices, affirmation work, curiosity chats, task delineation, goal setting, etc

you can bring a clearly defined focus to the call or allow it to be more open-ended. on this day, the inquiry was simply: “money?”

the card pulled was “the priestess” from the light seers tarot by chris-anne donnelly (pulled in reverse)

hey, chicken strip. 🚨 stop joining communities to be polite pssst: you can sub “joining communities” with whatever else you’re doing because it would feel rude or uncomfortable not to you work, feel + love too damn hard to slowly smother yourself under the weight of being a “good” friend, colleague, partner or lover it may feel easier to just click “accept” on that group invite than to say it’s not a good fit for you right now same for the new client, volunteer position, date invite or collab...

hey, sesame seed. listen, there will always be some sorta valid bullshit reason to sideline your joy — especially in your business there will always be voices urging you to deprioritize your joy — insisting that it’s impractical, unreasonable + irresponsible to seek joy as a metric of success it’s one thing to SAY you want to claim joy like it’s your job, or to know that you’d like a more joyful experience in this one sweet life of yours that’s the easy part (even though i know you might...

hey, cheese tray. what do you do when there’s a shitton you COULD be doing + you aren’t feeling focused, but you ARE feeling motivated + ready to get down to biz? i regularly use a combination of: whiteboards (3) NUMEROUS google cal reminders (color coded by mood at the moment rather than in pursuit of organizational purposes) — for weekly AND daily goals/tasks sticky notes torn scraps of paper voice memos a journal for strategizing out at cafes or parks dedicated google docs hastily made...
