sweet chalk + creamed lima beans?

hey, lavender latte.

who doesn’t love a sample?

when i was a young kid growing up on cape cod, i would spend summers in CT with my grandparents while my mom did what the working class does in tourist towns —

worked so many hours that hiring child care would have eaten up all the money made

so over the bridge + off to waterbury i went

my grandmother (who i called nonny) was an avon lady, and i used to LIVE for mid-morning every other wednesday, when her order would come in

i’d diligently unpack the stacked boxes, fastidiously lining each item up on the kitchen table in like groupings so it would be super simple to mark the invoice + ensure everything on it was delivered

then we’d move to sorting orders + bagging them up

she always gave her customers a couple samples with their order, often a little perfume-moistened towelette and a teeny tiny lipstick

i went wild for all the samples, but those little lipsticks were my fave

i swear i can still smell them, and just the thought brings that heavily makeup-y taste to my tongue

i’ll never get enough of those precisely sliced tips forming sharp steeples out of plastic bases printed with barely legible names like peachy keen + sugar pink + grape freeze

as an adult i still love to get bonus samples with my orders — not only are they the cutest, but they let me “try before i buy” so i know i love a thing before i invest in it

AND, perhaps the most fun part of all — samples are like these lovely little gifts that inject a bit of whimsy + wonder into your day and remind you that, as much of a shitshow as the world may be, it’s also a place where unexpected generosities abound

where your new favorite product is just one sample away

where the thing that will change EVERYTHING may just be right around the corner

that’s why i’m so happy to invite you to sample my neo-community for passion-powered visionaries + intuition-driven changemakers committed to living their values + letting what lights them up lead the way

it’s called the UPRISING inner sanctum, and it’s like nothing you’ve experienced before

the backbone of the inner sanctum is our weekly group calls, and i’m inviting you to experience one for yourself

this community doesn’t exist on a platform or app (aka no threads to respond to or get behind on)

we start our calls with celebration-based connection that draws us close quickly. then we move to the community card pull

in my work we use oracle + tarot cards as tools for getting at the truths we often push aside, shove down, or otherwise invalidate, as well as inspiration for meaningful reflection, and catalysts for action + change

my method is about honoring the wisdom within you, and allowing the card art to coax it to the surface

i display the community card on the screen + members share what comes up for them, how it relates to what’s been present for them, and what questions they have

these conversations are robust and members witness, support, uplift + inspire each other as they find meaning that gives them the grounding, reassurance, clarity, peace or joyful motivation they most need

at the end of the call members can ask for an individual quickie card pull for a more personalized card that they can then reflect upon later or bring to their monthly 1:1 call with me

hey, almond paste. who knew it was actually true… but size really doesn’t matter before you come for me, hang on a beat + hear me out i don’t know what you had on YOUR mind, but i’m talking about the unfortunate cultural norm of classifying joy into different-sized buckets small pleasures. appreciating the little things. microjoys i mean, YES i WANT you to enjoy simple moments + daily delights (they’re an integral part of claiming joy like it’s your job, after all) what i’d love for you to...

hey, salty caper. bandaids don’t always make it better, and healing generally involves way more time than we’ve been socialized to believe whether we’re talking injured body parts or emotional wounds, surface healing doesn’t mean your insides are well yet, and often the most healing work doesn’t show visible results for more time than we’d like real healing takes time, and trying to shortcut it will yield cut short results we’re just so damn busy though, so eager to slap a well sticker on our...

hey, lemon cake. so, prioritizing self-care doesn’t always look the way you think it will (or how everyone else tells you it should) sometimes it looks like rest and if you need that, by all means REST i took a 2 hour nap yesterday because i really couldn’t not today i’m hunkering down one of the things i love to help you do is learn to trust yourself to know when you need the nap + when you’re using it as an escape… learn to trust yourself to discern when you can afford to take that space to...
