i love a good dead flower 🥀

hey, maple muffin.
i really do
of course i can’t get enough of a flower in the peak of its fragrant, vibrant prime
that’s easy to love, right?
and there’s plenty of love for properly dried flowers out there…
but wow, do i love a dead + dying bloom, too
i keep cut flowers in vases longer than most, and i love to check in on their quiet little death march each day —
gathering crunchy fallen petals, noticing the way time drains some of color but intensifies that of others
poking a bit to see what’s ready to release, what’s still hanging strong
last week i was struck by the way some blooms that i thought would shed weren’t budging a bit, while others came completely undone in an instant
and isn’t that how it is, though?
when you’re really going through it, you hold ONNNN, bloom
even when you could’ve stood to be taken better care of + could stand it still now
even when, by all outward appearances, you SHOULD be falling apart…
somehow you keep it together
and then, apropos of nothing, a gentle caress or a curious inquiry leaves you wrecked
because there isn’t always logic to how we handle the messy moments we live in
and weariness weighing over time at some point must compound
i managed to grab an inelegant video of those flowers, and i was struck by how the strong friend had been surreptitiously shielding the tender one
how the garden you grow into matters
this is reciprocity that doesn’t keep score
it’s synergistic care —
built on faith that we can love ourselves + each other at once,
trust in the “flowers” we choose to grow with,
and the wisdom to hold space for the intricacies of our experiences, together
if you didn’t even realize you’re desperately craving something like that in your life right now —
something that’s meant to nurture + nourish you as a passion-powered, mission-motivated magicmaker in your life + biz…

hey, hot sauce. a few months ago i had a chat with billie smith — a friend, colleague + inner sanctum member since feb 2024, as well as owner of move with billie + creator of the rebel movement club (which i’ve been a member of for over 2 years now, too!) the moment in our chat when billie accidentally created the best hybrid word ever… “taracle cards!” the goal was to capture what it’s like to BE in the inner sanctum, to put into words some of the benefits of being a part of it. here are a...
hey, whimsical goldfish. the other day a client was celebrating that, after quite a rough emotional patch, she was finally feeling like herself again which of course made her so happy but she was also visibly + verbally a little uneasy with it, too she called out feeling like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop, like she didn’t quite trust the great change maybe she was even a little afraid to trust it in the following days, two other clients, in other separate sessions, used those...
hey, blood orange punch. last week in the sanctum we had an impromptu deep dive into faith, trust, and the difference between the two normally these convos happen within the context of our community card pull, but this time it unfurled during our intro connection time — where we share our thrills + thwacks for the day or week a sanctum member shared a win that she was having a hard time trusting a couple weeks previously, our community card was “faith in the process” from the sacred rebels...
