hey, homemade cinnamon bun.
one of the hallmarks of intuition-driven decisionmaking is listening to wisdom that may come through less conventional messengers
whether you call them synchronicities, coincidences or signs from spirit, source or god —
when you open yourself up with curiosity to patterns + potential signposts in the world around you, you gain access to a true abundance —
of joy, delight + wonder, as well as spiritual support + divine guidance
most importantly, you accept an invitation for the wisdom that’s already within you to be known, heard + valued
and just like you, sweet bloom, when your intuition feels known, heard + valued…
it shows up bigger + brighter, more often + more fully
this doesn’t mean that i advocate for trusting signs + synchronicities + whispers from within without question, every single time, over other more fact-informed data
i just don’t want you to ignore them
because with all the talk lately of what’s chic…
one thing that is so NOT chic is that sickness in your stomach that comes when you realize you already KNEW what to do, but you just didn’t trust it
because you were afraid of looking foolish
because you didn’t want to seem selfish
because you were worried that your credibility would suffer
i say this with love, because i know it’s not always easy. but bloom…
there’s too much at stake to trifle with those worries + fears these days
we’re losing the leaders we’ve taken for granted, and it’s time to step up into the space that remains
to honor their legacy by embodying what you admire most about them
and to question what you don’t
to learn more about what they may have done that doesn’t sit well with you
not to excuse it, but to learn from it
and to open up a door for the grace that you may someday need yourself
because the one thing that will keep you from becoming the leader you were meant to be, without fail, is fear of something that you try to prevent
you might worry about saying or doing the wrong thing
you might be afraid that you’ll disappoint
and if you wait until you strategize the possibility out of those things, you’ll never get anywhere
so let’s just get this out of the way: you don’t have to be afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing…
because it WILL happen
there. breathe
how freeing, to accept screwing up as inevitable
how freeing then, to act anyway
trusting that you can survive it
that you’ll be able to apologize meaningfully when needed
and that you’ll be able to handle whatever criticism will undoubtedly come
you are stronger than you think, bloom
and the world needs that thing you keep hearing those inner whispers about, that thing you’ve been ignoring or putting off
the world doesn’t need your perfection. it needs your passion
it needs your big heart, and your willingness to DO something with your big feelings — in the face of all the fear, frustration, worry, disappointment + rage that may come
it’s very human to want to look good + be liked
but we’ve seen how disastrous that, in excess + from a “leader,” can be
it’s very understandable to want to bury head in sand + block out what doesn’t match your own worldview
but we’ve also seen a glaring example of that in “leadership,” and i know no one here wants to be THAT guy
(i know too, that sometimes it’s the thing that preserves your wellbeing. and i trust you to know the difference)
so as the leaders + lightmakers we love continue to pass on, it’s time to consider how we will evolve to bridge the gap
how we will act with fire + resolve, trusting that we’ll figure out what we don’t yet know, allowing our intuition to guide us, our faith to support us, and the community around us to comfort + bolster us forward
hardships abound, bloom
but so does fucking love
xxoo, cc

BEHIND THE ENDEARMENT:
i made homemade cinnamon buns for the first time every yesterday. i've never had the precision of a baker, and i lowkey have no desire to knead anything out for 12 minutes lol
but a bun-loving friend helped me out big, so knead away i did
and they came out pretty fab, if i do say so myself (although i already have plans for improving on the filling for next time!)
got any fun firsts to share with me?? you know i wanna head about em!!
